Registration:

• Registration: Pre-Registration Online and Day Of On Premise
Maximum # of Participants: 75
• Pre-Judging Hours:
Friday Saturday April 12, 2014 Noon – 3pm & 6pm – 9pm
Saturday April 12, 2014 Noon – 3pm
• Cosplay Line-Up Time:
Saturday April 12, 2014 At 4:00pm
• Cosplay Contest Hours:
Saturday April 12, 2014 4:30pm – 7:30pm
• Any special sound, if requested, must be turned in on CD
• Reserved for paid convention attendees

Award categories:
Best in Show – Craftsmanship,
Best in Show – Found Item,
Best in Show – Original Design,
Best in Show - Free Style – Fan Favorite
Best in Show - Junior,
Best in Show – Skit,
Craftsmanship:
• Made or modified 60% of costume
• Must bring source material of character
• Groups may enter but no more than 6 people
• Pre-judging is required
• Must at least perform a walk on
Found Item Craftsmanship
• Costumes are assembled by collecting various pieces and put together with or
without sewing
• Must bring source material of character
• Groups may enter but no more than 6 people
• Pre-judging is required
• Must at least perform a walk on
Original Design Craftsmanship
• Made of modified 60% of costume AND is of original design
• Must bring source material of style
• Groups may enter but no more than 6 people
• Pre-judging is required
• Must at least perform a walk on
Junior Competition
• Competitor is 12 years old or younger.
• Made or modified 25% of costume
• Groups may enter but no more than 6 people
• Pre-judging is required
• Must at least perform a walk on
Free Style – Fan Favorite
• Made or modified 25% of costume
• Groups may enter but no more than 6 people
• Pre-judging is required
• Must at least perform a walk on
• Winner of this category is decided by the Audience.
Skits
• Groups may have up to 6 people
• Prescreening is required
• Time Limits: 1-4 people = 3 min max; 5-6 people = 4 min max
None of the following are allowed in Shinboku Con Cosplay Competitions:
• Aerial acrobatics
• Skits above a PG rating, including language and background music
• Nudity or partial nudity. Bathing suit areas must be covered.
• Entering more than once, even as a “prop” for another skit
• Falsifying entry form information
• Messy props such as confetti, flowers, food, or water
• Severely exceeding the allowed time limit
Finally, only the Main Stage Department Team may make decisions in case of disputes over rules, eligibility, disqualification, lineup order and other special requests, etc. The Main Stage Department Team decisions are final.
